It must have been late You have to listen well to notice this. Also the wavetable header could not be configured to a useable port number this is done via jumpersthe lowest available was port !

I also noticed that there are 6 extra pins in addition to the standard bit ISA stuff, you can see them on the bottom left of the card, marked “P4”. This card is SB Pro compatible and sounds fantastic, very clean and crisp.
The DOS mixer software turned me off those cards however, and some minor incompatibilities with older games. Picture coming soon, but the picture was bad because it taken from my phone. Ds1868f it’s Crystal which was part of Cirrus Logic I believe.

I have an integrated ES soundcard in my Compaq. It insists on enabling WSS which is obviously not gonna work on 8-bit. And a pic of the card I have 2, one is green, one is yellowish but otherwise they are identical. EXE to initialise the card.
